Alexandria + Brenton Haun - St. John Vianney Catholic Wedding

The 2023 wedding season has begun!! What a great one to kick off the season. This wedding felt a little like Deja Vou in the best way possible, last year I shot Alex’s twin brother’s wedding in the same place! I think one of my favorite things about this career is just that, continuing to capture families and weddings and huge life updates!

Alexandria described her wedding style as “traditional with a personal twist” and there were so many special moments from their wedding day that tied to the past - starting with the date itself. This would have been Alexandria’s Grandpa Ed and Grandma JoMarie’s 62nd anniversary. Her wedding dress was displayed as a surprise to Alexandria while her mom read the sweetest note.

Alexandria was such a stunning bride! Her dress is Morilee purchased from Bridal Traditions in Omaha. Invitations were created via Zola and her bridal bouquet was from HyVee Floral.

The couple opted out of a first look but had a first touch where they read letters to each other. Make sure you look for their wedding video from Heart & Light Company to hear a little snip or two. Another thing that is very good to do before the ceremony is a parent reveal. Check out this moment between Anthony and his daughter.

The day was filled with family ties and traditions. We were able to recreate a photo from Alexandria’s parents wedding day on the back of Ollie the Trolley (let the tradition continue)! Last year I had the honor of capturing Alexandria’s twin brother, Nick’s wedding to Emily at St. John Vianney as well. Their mom Diane (aka Mama Barone according to Nick and his friends) is truly one of the most kind and loving ladies, she can make anyone feel like family!

The end of April is the BEST time of year to get married - THOSE BLOOMS!!

Enjoy some reception highlights - my personal favorite was the surprise dance with with Alexandria and her Grandpa Ed to “Pretty Woman” - he lit up on the dance floor! The dessert table was next level too - with a gluten-free cake made by Alex’s mom, Diane. Plus sheet cakes from Hyvee and a French Macroon flight courtesy of HappyMacs and gluten-free cupcakes from Jones Bros. Plenty of goodies for all to enjoy!
