FAQs
1. Do you have an assistant or 2nd photographer? – most of my weddings allow me to work alone. if you are interested in lots of candid shots, different angles, and extra images – adding a 2nd photographer to your package would be a good idea for you.
2. How long will it take to see my photos? – waiting weeks for your images may seem hard, but I deliver a sneak peek within a week of the wedding. Your full gallery is complete 8-10 weeks after the wedding date, depending on the number of hours you hire me for. Plan about a week per hour of shooting.
3. How many weddings do you have each weekend? – I limit the number of weddings I take per month to be able to concentrate my time and energy on you! I do not double or triple book weekends at this time. Your wedding will be the only one.
4. Do you have backup equipment? – YES! I have two camera bodies, 4 lenses, 3 batteries, countless memory cards, 2 sets of flash equipment and instant image backup because I shoot with 2 SD cards simultaneously. If you hire a 2nd photographer that is just another layer of backup protection for your day!
5. How many hours of coverage will I need? – most weddings are completely covered by 8 hours of photography. this includes detail shots, getting ready, reveals, first looks, family portraits, bridal party portraits, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. If you are having a full catholic mass I recommend adding more coverage hours. If you have multiple venue changes, adding extra time for travel could be a good option. I tell my brides that about 30 minutes of “open dancing” photos at the end of the night are usually plenty, but it is important that I be there early enough in the day to shoot details and getting ready candids. We will work together on a timeline 6-8 weeks before the wedding.
6. What is included with my wedding photography package? – you will receive a full-resolution online gallery that you can view, share and print from directly using my professional printing service. Each gallery comes with a print release and I usually deliver around 50 images per hour of shooting time.
7. How involved are you in the planning process? – wedding planning can be stressful, but to me its so much fun! i can be as involved as you want me. There are peak times in the planning process that I will be sending you questionnaires, planning templates and more. I have worked with some amazing vendors in the last few years so I am able to give you recommendations if you need them. I like to think of myself as an extra bridesmaid through the planning process and the wedding day. We will meet up before you book me to discuss broad wedding details. Next we meet up for an engagement session to get you fun images. This is also a great time to learn your way around the camera and see a glance of how I work with couples and on wedding day!
8. Should I hire a videographer? – video is so popular right now! LHP brides have the opportunity to add on video to any package seamlessly through me. I can give you all the details if you are interested in learning more.
9. Should I do a first look? – this is totally up to you, it does allow for a more laid-back time during formal photos (in my opinion) and gives you more time with your soon-to-be-spouse on your wedding day! Read more about first looks in my blog post.
