UNL Business Student’s Engagement Photos - UNL Campus - Lincoln NE (plus engagment session tips!)
Sam + Tanner are both studying at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln so we found it to be the perfect setting for their gorgeous evening of engagement photos. Spring time is probably my favorite time to take photos, everything feels fresh and brand new - we even found a tree still in bloom! These two will be getting married next May, and hoping that the pandemic is no longer a problem on their radar.
If you are planning your engagement photos I recommend doing so around sunset, the lighting is perfect and on the hot days the temperature isn’t as bad when the sun isn;t beating down on your head. You will want to schedule at least an hour to an hour and a half for photos. The best time for sunset photos is 40 minutes before the sun sets (you can check that time by a simple google search).
My favorite colors to photograph are neutrals like cream, white, tan. Pops of color can be fun as well - light blue is super trendy this year. A big piece of advice is - dress for the season! Don’t try to be too matchy-matchy but instead go with coordinating colors and a mix of solids and patterns. I love a long, flowy floral printed dress because they look lovely in photos. I encourage my couples to bring an outfit change to the session. Starting off in a cute shirt + jeans and then changing into a pretty dress gives you more looks to use later!
