Vietnamese - Catholic Wedding in Lincoln Nebraska
Saturday, July 15th 2023
Welcome to my FAVORITE modern wedding venue in town - the Lincoln Commercial Club! The architecture is stunning and there is plenty of room to move, along with beautiful photo locations (literally, even the bathrooms are beautiful)! Tables, chivari chairs and linens are all included in the package along with setup and teardown so your family can relax and enjoy the day with you.
Quyhn’s look was modern and timeless - her dress by Justin Alexander from MaeMe Bridal in Metairie, LA complimented her hair by Sally LV and makeup courtesy of Lidiya Postrigan perfectly. Her final touches included earrings from Tiffany & Co before she rode the gold elevator down to the third floor ballroom to have a first look with her husband-to-be!
The “sea glass satin” bridesmaids dresses from Birdy Grey were absolutely stunning on all the girls. Just look at that classy wedding party made up of Quynh and Hai’s closest family and friends.
The Vietnamese Catholic Ceremony at Immaculate Heart of Mary was a such beautiful service to witness. The large choir sang the most gorgeous songs and the bride and groom read passages from the Bible. Family formals were a ton of fun for me, there was no list, everyone just ran in and out of photos - lots of family groupings and fast pace. That could honestly sum up the entire day: FAST + FAMILY + FOOD (more on that food piece later).

Incredible florals and model-perfect bride+groom, what more could a photographer ask for?!
The Reception
Many Vietnamese traditions were laced into Quynh and Hai’s wedding reception. First, the entire family is announced ahead of the bridal party. The bride and groom cut the cake, which was not served - but saved. Desserts were RauCau (coconut jelly) and a stunning little fruit tart were brought after two starters and a seven-course entree meal via Imperial Palace. Yes, you read that right NINE PLATTERS! The meals were served to the tables and food was shared “family style”. There was a Seafood Combo with Fried Rice and Crab Legs - Roasted quail (incredible) - Szechuan Style whole fish - LOBSTER and Gailan Beef.
Another Vietnamese Wedding Tradition is the family greeting each table with a cheers and appreciation for coming. The bride and groom shared a dance together and finally family and friends sang KARAOKE. This was literally such a wonderful wedding day, I’m hoping to work more Vietnamese weddings really soon.
Thank you Quynh and Hai for choosing me to photograph your wonderful wedding day!
It was my honor to serve you!
