The Paden’s Wedding Day
Roy and Katie Paden
Lifegate Church - Omaha Nebraska
August 19th 2023
Witnessing two separate families unify and become one is so very special. It defines the true definition of love and commitment by each individual. Together Katie and Roy have 8 kids, they all played a special part in the day.
Capturing the love and tenderness between Roy, Katie and the children was so incredibly simple, because it was all so natural. It was there. There was never a moment of force. That is what makes this family so charming. The day started out beautifully, with Katie, her daughter and Mother getting their hair done at The Hair Place. Then came a lovely surprise of flowers, a letter and blanket, all concocted by Roy, and delivered by his son, Roy Jr. The cherry on top of the whole morning was riding between locations in a stretch limo.
It was such a joy watching the groom coordinating the wedding so marvelously! You would have never guessed he planned the entire day (including the surprises for his bride) all within a month’s time. I was hired to photograph the day WEEKS ago! Just look how beautiful all the details came together. So glad I had left August 19th open :)
I was truly honored to be able to spend the morning with Katie and her sweet little girl, Dani!
Then it was finally time for the highly anticipated first look between Roy and Katie before they made their way down the aisle together:
The ceremony itself was so elegant. The vows that were written and spoken, were words of great love, strength, and honor. Roy and Katie are both so eager to have a wonderful, and fulfilled life together. Being the best partner to one another, and being the best parents they can be are their top priority. They know what it takes to be just that, and together as husband and wife, they can achieve anything. Especially with the Lord, right by their side to guide them.
The newlyweds hosted a “cake and mints” style reception in the basement of their church. Lifegate Church is so special to these two - they both serve and love the church that brought them together. Combining these families created an army of love and strength. I was so blessed to be there, to be able to capture these memories of the beginning of a happy future.
